About Me

Hi Book Lovers! My name is Lanie Hitt, a Charlotte-based book lover who pretty much always has a novel tucked under her arm (or in her bag… or on her phone, just in case). As an avid reader, my heart will forever belong to romance, thrillers, and fantasy. If there’s a story to get lost in, I’m in.

I work with authors to help their books find the readers who are already waiting for them. Publishing a book (congrats!) is a huge accomplishment, but marketing it can feel confusing, overwhelming, and anything but cozy. That’s where I come in. Through social media support, publicity, bookstore and media outreach, and event planning, I help take the stress out of the “how do I get people to notice my book?” part of publishing—so you can focus on the writing.

When I’m not reading or helping authors behind the scenes, you can usually find me:
-sipping coffee ☕ and reading one more chapter
-at a live music show
-supporting and shopping small & local
-hanging out with friends and my dog 🐶
-trying new things just for the fun of it
-cheering on the Carolina Panthers (through thick and thin)

Before freelancing, I gained hands-on experience through a marketing internship at a book publisher, where I worked behind the scenes on book promotions and learned how stories move from publication to readers’ hands. That experience gave me a strong foundation in the publishing world—and a deep appreciation for thoughtful, author-centered marketing.

At the end of the day, I do this because I love books and everything book related from book merch to indie bookstores and everything in between. So, if you’re looking for someone who genuinely loves books, understands readers, and wants to support your story like it matters (because it does), you’re in the right place.
